Like the February 2025 sprint, we’re back in Nimman (Nimmanhaemin) — Chiang Mai’s creative, café-filled neighbourhood at the foot of Doi Suthep mountain.

Accommodation

Accommodation is self-organized in Nimman — there are plenty of hotels, guesthouses and serviced apartments within walking distance.

Once you are an approved participant, we’ll get everyone into a shared communication room to help coordinate accommodation.

Note that the accommodation is not covered by the sprint budget.

🛬 Getting there

How to get here

Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) is just a 10–15 minute ride from Nimman.

Option 1

Quickest

For people coming from outside Asia, the quickest way to get to Chiang Mai is by plane, usually with layover in Bangkok.

Option 2

Cost efficient

Domestic flights in Thailand are relatively inexpensive, starting from as low as 25$.

In some cases it might be cheaper to book a flight to Bangkok and then continue to Chiang Mai via a separate domestic flight, or via the night train which is a nice experience for many travelers.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to attend?
No. There is no participation fee. You only pay for your own travel and accommodation.
Who can apply?
Anyone who wants to hack on Nix, NixOS, nixpkgs or the wider ecosystem. Tell us in the application what you would like to work on. We aim for around 30 developers.
How do I apply and when will I hear back?
Fill out the application form. After registration closes we review all applications and notify everyone whether they are part of the sprint.
Where exactly is the venue?
The sprint will take place in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai, like the February 2025 sprint. The exact venue is still to be determined and will be announced to accepted participants.
Where do I stay?
Accommodation is self-organized and not covered by the sprint budget. Once you are accepted, we bring everyone into a shared chat room to help coordinate accommodation in Nimman.
Is food provided?
We plan to organize catering (lunch) during the sprint, paid for by sponsors — details are still to be confirmed. There are a ton of options for dinner in nearby restaurants.
